Green smoothies // the reason to live

Oh dear, it feels like such a dreadfully long time since I last posted on my blog. I am very sorry, but this will hopefully dramatically change, as I recently bought a new camera. *squeals* For all you more gadget-knowledged girlies, it's a Nikon D3100. This will mean I will post many more outfit photos, as they will be much better quality. c:
Due to that place we call school (aka. hell), I am currently supposed to be studying, so this will only be a very short post.

The other day I found my reason to live. This epiphany moment occurred when I made my first green smoothie. Yes, call me crazy if you wish, but what is there not to love about them? Basically it's a win-win situation; they taste bloody delicious, AND they're absolutely jam packed full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and all that healthy stuff. If you had to choose one thing to live off, health wise, it would probably be these beauties. You can make them with just about anything you find in your kitchen, so experiment and find your perfect combination.

Here is just my current recipe that I have been tinkering around with for my last few smoothies:

Stick it in a jar (we all know everything looks better in them) and find a pretty straw. - See more at: http://viewsofnow.com/2013/06/#.Uh2xkj_TAtU

Pop all your chosen ingredients into a blender (some people go for juicers, but by using the whole fruit you get the fibre and full health benefits). Pour it into a jar - because we all know everything looks prettier in a jar - add a straw and drink up!

Give it a try and tell me what you think! Or if you are a green smoothie veteran, do you have a favourite combination?

  1. I love your blog and I was making green smoothies today and remembered this post! My favorite recipe is 1 cup of orange juice with pulp, 1 banana, 1 cup of spinach, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1/2 of an apple, 1 celery stalk, a few swigs of lemon juice (I put lemon juice in everything ^.^), 1/2 cup of green tea, and then EITHER add 1/2 cup of pineapple (if you want to detox), 1/2 cup of mango (if you want better skin/a vitamin C boost), 1/2 cup of either blueberries or blackberries (for antioxidants), or basically 1/2 cup of any fruit or vegetable or anything you want to add (the ones I said are the ones I do the most) and thow it all in you blender and then garnish with pomegranate seeds and a celery stalk! It's pretty easy and takes about no time and YUMMMMM
